Coachcraft Mercury

Derby Alstone's Coachcraft Mercury at Amelia Island

Derby has been coming by the shop for years. We have know him since high school. I remember going in his fathers garage when we were kids & seeing the Coachcraft Merc in the corner. It was plain worn out.  Derby was asked to bring his car to The Amelia Island Concourse as Coachcraft was the featured marque that year. It was the chance of a lifetime & he had to make it.

Here are some pics of the restoration. We had about a 6 weeks to assemble the car from a bare frame & put it on the truck for Amelia Island. Normally I would tell the customer six weeks no way.. Derby is a incredible guy & a great friend. We were going to try our best to make it happen. Everyone said "you'll never make it". To be honest I wasn't sure we would.

Two weeks left & the body is still at the painters. To say we were worried is a understatement. I have to say everyone who worked on this project put the hours in & kicked ass.

Lots of 20 hour days & the chassis is complete. It runs & everything works.

Kawasaki 305 Brat Style (The Wasa)

Here is the build of the Kawasaki 305 we bought from our neighbor. We have been interested in doing a bike for a while. This one was dropped in our lap. So this is what happens when you have some tools & a little elbow grease.

We were inspired by the brat style popular in Japan. For our first attempt at a custom motorcycle we are pretty happy with the results.
